Court adjourns Obi’s petition against Tinubu to Friday


The Presidential Election Petition Court has adjourned to Friday, May 19, 2023, the petition against the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, by the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi. Representatives not recognisedMeanwhile, the PEP court refused to recognise any representative of the Labour Party except the 1st Petitioner, Obi who was in court. The court reached the decision having been possibly intimated that there was a disagreement between two factions of the party before the court resumed proceedings. It could be recalled that The Federal High Court, Abuja suspended Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party over alleged forgery of documents including court documents. On the alleged receipt of N500m from external forces to destabilise the party, Apapa vehemently denied receiving any money or being influenced by anybody or any group to work against the party.
