Daily Nation reports that in 2019, a Court of Appeal judged that the company legally owned the 640-acre piece of land known as Tawai farm. Evicting the squatters will bring to an end a court dispute that began in 2008 and has spanned over a period of 13 years. According to directors from Eldoret Express, the company acquired the property in 2001 from Kaitet Tea Estates for KSh 40 million and had both the original title deed and certificate of title to prove ownership.
