Couple's wedding reception cancelled because hotel is being used to house migrants

It comes after reports that a bride and groom saw their wedding reception cancelled 11 days before so a hotel could house migrants. Anthony, of Chessington, Surrey, told the publication: “The hotel told me the Home Office had taken over and they couldn’t put on our reception any more. “The hotel was obviously given a whole load more money to put up migrants than host our reception. “Clearly these people need to be housed somewhere and at a time when international tourism is still heavily restricted, there are a large number of hotel rooms empty. On Monday, when a ’record’ 430 migrants arrived on 14 boats, this year’s figure had risen to 8,159.
