What caught the attention of Kenyans online is the huge gap in height between her and her 33-year-old husband, who is about three feet tall while 28-year-old Wawira is over seven feet tall. The two lovers tied the knot last Saturday having dated since 2017 when they met at the wedding of a mutual friend. “They used to say I’m too tall and I’m too old to beat him,” Wawira told BBC in an interview. The two said they were forced to make a special bed and order a special mattress from the factory to accommodate Wawira’s height.
