A Palmerston North couple are at loggerheads with the city council over damage caused by an enormous tree branch falling into their property. Council staff removed the tree branch the morning it fell and the rest of the tree was also removed because it had become unstable. The Kennedys had the unbalanced tree removed by an arborist because it was in danger of falling into their house. The Kennedys had a report done by an arborist and compiled weather data from the days around when the tree fell.
