The man, 31, and woman, 25, were held on Monday after allegedly showing a photograph of a newborn baby in an incubator to staff at the children’s hospital and claiming that they were there to collect the child. Scotland Yard said yesterday that a couple fitting their description had been reported by staff at the Royal London hospital in Whitechapel, east London, last Friday after they made inquiries about a baby before leaving.
