Attorneys met with the Gage County Board of Supervisors on Wednesday to discuss revived hope that an insurance company may have to pay a portion of the $28.1 million judgment in the Beatrice 6 case. Joel Bacon, an attorney with Keating O’Gara Nedved and Peter law firm in Lincoln representing Gage County in the case, met with the board in a closed session at the end of its regular meeting. Prior to the closed session, Bacon made a brief public comment regarding the case and a recent decision by the Nebraska Supreme Court to reverse a dismissal against Gage County’s case against Employers Mutual Casualty Company. “That case has now been remanded back to the district court for further proceedings,” Bacon said. We needed to win this battle in order to keep the litigation going against EMC.
