To The Daily Sun,The Belknap County Commissioners claim it may stop construction of the county prison if a supplemental budget request of $229,500 is not approved. If they were to do that, within seven months they will have incurred more expense than their supplemental budget request. It would appear the current county commissioners are simply looking to raise taxes rather than manage the County reasonably. Is there similar fluff in the current budget that the commissioners could utilize? It's time for the county administrator and commissioners to put on their thinking caps and find a solution that fits the approved budget.
