Country’s second FSRU receives maiden LNG

The FSRU will send out Regasified Liquefied Natural gas (RLNG) via subsea pipeline connected to the national grid. Local energy giant Summit LNG Terminal Co Ltd (SLNG) is a subsidiary of Summit Power International (SPI), and is a company of Summit-Mitsubishi consortium. It had carried LNG from Qatar and later regasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) before supplying it to the national grid. Excelerate Energy commissioned its Moheshkhali Floating LNG (MLNG) terminal – Bangladesh’s first LNG import facility in August 2018. Since then, MLNG has imported 27 cargoes of LNG and delivered in excess, 70 million British thermal units of natural gas into Bangladesh.
