Councils seek tweaks to Government's 'good water' ad campaign

Outrage from mayors and elected members could prompt some tweaks to an advertising campaign promoting the Government's three waters reforms. Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ) said there was widespread condemnation from councils critical of the ads launched in June. Many felt the ads suggested councils had done a poor job managing water resources. Tom Lee/Stuff Hamilton Mayor Paula Southgate said she backed Local Government New Zealand’s conserns of the campaign ads. Tom Lee/Stuff Waipā Mayor Jim Mylchreest says the ads take a blanket approach to criticism of how councils manage water services.
