Council's helpful 'home videos' explain rules to ratepayersSupplied The Hutt City Council has released a suite of animated videos to help explain various building regulations and other helpful titbitsA suite of handy videos has been designed to help ratepayers get their heads around the ins and outs of building consents and other regulations. The six animated "home videos", which also explain other building issues and provide helpful tips, were commissioned by the Hutt City Council. They cover building consents, resource consents, earthquake strengthening, home pool safety, the benefits of building beyond code and land information memorandums. Council divisional manager environmental consents Helen Oram said the videos were created to communicate processes in an efficient and easy-to-understand way. Because information in the videos was applicable across the country, Hutt City had made them available for other councils to use.
