MELAKA: A simple innovation to keep public toilets clean earned great pride for a Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council (MPHTJ) staff who was awarded for his efforts. Mohd Noorhishamuddin Said, 37, came up with a solution to address the frequent malfunction of public toilets, which won him a prize in the Innovative category during the MPHTJ award night. The father of two came up with his own design of replacing the hook of the flush system at 263 public toilets under the council’s care. His impressive work has led to reduction in cost of repairing the flush system and logistics in dispatching plumbers. In his speech, Ismail called on council staff to reach out to the community as it was the key component of the council’s task.
