Westmeath County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) intend to deliver the greenway to promote cycling, walking and other non-motorised travel. The two route corridor options are highlighted in yellow and pinkBoth route corridor options start in Kilbeggan Harbour and end in Mullingar; one corridor is west of Lough Ennell and one is east of Lough Ennell. Westmeath County Council is now seeking to identify a preferred route corridor and has launched a public consultation on the two route corridor options.
