Days before Susan Aitken had begged people in Glasgow to follow new stricter social distancing rules to stem the spread of new cases in the city. Rules include not gathering in groups of more than three households and staying a metre apart. Lockdown rules were reimposed in the city just days earlier because of a rising infection rate. On Thursday, Aitken, 48, begged people to “please, please” follow guidelines to avoid further measures such as schools closing.
