The Dunedin City Council is searching for answers about its sports facilities. The council owns 85 sports facilities in Dunedin including sports fields, parks and outdoor courts, as well as indoor venues such as Forsyth Barr Stadium and the Edgar Centre. Dunedin City Council acting group manager parks and recreation Scott MacLean said the survey was a needs assessment. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the council had continued to see positive engagement throughout the restrictions from sports clubs. Water sports will not be part of the review but the council will be looking at them in the future.
