A fund set up to help Christchurch communities recover from the earthquakes will now also pay for initiatives responding to the mosque shootings. The Christchurch City Council agreed on Thursday to provide grants of up to $25,000 to support community initiatives proposed following the March 15 shootings, which killed 50 people and injured another 50 at two city mosques. The money will come from the Community Resilience Partnership Fund, jointly funded by the council and the Ministry of Health. DAVID WALKER/STUFF Christchurch mayor Lianne Dalziel, pictured here meeting with the Muslim community last week, led a minute's silence at Thursday's council meeting after she and councillors condemned the mosque attacks. Dalziel said the Muslim communities were targeted by the shooter, but "it was an attack on all of us".
