Burroughs explained that flooding issues will not be 100% solved, but that he believes the inlets will alleviate some of the issues with smaller rainfall events. There is also a four-inch water main underneath the street in that area that city officials plan to replace. The city will also armor coat several streets that street superintendent Jason Moore said were milled and resurfaced in 2017. Armor coat maintenance is planned on parts of Seventh through 12th streets 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Streets. Burroughs said the size of the projects will delay the resurfacing of West Scott Street from Sumner to near Sherman Street by one year to stay within the budget.
