Another way character is revealed is how we treat those who may have less than us or nothing to offer us , be that something of monetary value or help with a personal or professional need. Character can also be revealed by our actions behind closed doors, where what we say or do will knowingly impact someone who isn’t present. Within weeks, the executive privately challenged my boss ( another executive) to consider removing me due to their concern about that influence overlap. How my boss acted at that time behind that closed door forever defined character in the workplace for me . When colleagues discover that questionable actions have been taken, it inevitably leads to examining the character of those who took part.
