Could Kyle Larson be pulled from Indy 500 early? Or could he miss start of Coke 600?

Arrow McLaren has been working with IndyCar about letting 2013 Indy 500 winner Tony Kanaan take laps at IMS this week to complete IndyCar’s refresher program to be deemed eligible to race the Indy 500. If Larson was unable to start the Indy 500 (such as because of a lengthy rain delay), Kanaan then could take his place. Kanaan retired from IndyCar after last year’s Indy 500, his 22nd consecutive start in the event. The early forecast by Weather Underground for Sunday’s Indianapolis 500 calls for a 68% chance of thunderstorms around the 12:45 p.m. 108th Indianapolis 500 driver to watch: Larson Kyle Larson will become the fifth driver to attempt racing the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day, and a fifth-place starting spot for the Indy 500 is a great place to start with a legitimate chance to win.
