The conference, which planned for 300 attendees, attracted double that number and she was mobbed in the hallway by enthusiastic young women. Instead, she has directed tough jabs at Jeff Sessions, the attorney general with a southern drawl and a history of fierce opposition to criminal justice reform. For some criminal justice reform advocates, Harris may not go far enough.
