Some young men now complain that the high cost of living is threatening their marriages. Speaking to The Nairobian in Homa Bay town, Otip argued that the high cost of living causes stress and fatigue which can deter a man from performing his conjugal rights effectively. Otip noted that young men in marriages are suffering since they are perceived as the head of their families. They struggle to make ends meet but the high cost of living makes them unable to succeed,” Otip said. The high cost of living is also attributed to the inability of young men to marry according to Polycarp Otieno, a youthful businessman.
