Corruption leads Lalbagh land officer to suspension

Md Maksudur Rahman, revenue secretary, paid a sudden visit to Lalbagh Revenue Circle office on May 29 around 11am, and instantly made this decision after finding the Kanungo, HM Mezbah Uddin guilty, reports UNB. According to the regulation of the government employee (discipline and appeal) Rule 12, 2018- Kanungo HM Mezbah Uddin was immediately suspended from service. Along with the Revenue Secretary, the visiting team also included additional secretary (development) Abdul Haque, personal secretary of revenue secretary Md Daulatuzzaman Khan and the assistant commissioner of the concerned revenue circle. In order to make the land management system clear, hassle free and public-friendly along with preventing corruption in land offices- the officers of Land Ministry have started visiting the land offices all over the country, under the orders of Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury.
