This week, the Optical Media Board (OMB) stated that corporations in the Philippines should legalize software to safeguard development and growth in the country. The move is aimed to accelerate reduction of illegal software use among companies and to support the Philippines growing IT sector. “The use of unlicensed or illegal software is a sign of poor judgment and unnecessary risk-taking,” said Tarun Sawney, BSA senior director. “Even one instance of unlicensed software is too much for a business,” said Sawney.
