more-inThe Kozhikode Municipal Corporation is planning a survey of residences and institutions across the city to determine the waste management practices and possibilities, as part of implementing Haritha Keralam as a pilot project in the city. The survey will be carried out during the later half of August and is expected to be completed by August 30. The implementation of the Haritha Keralam project will be a continuation and a modified version of the Corporation’s source-level waste management project. Under the project, all residences and institutions will have to make arrangements to process biodegradable waste generated by them. “We will formulate further action plan based on the survey report,” Dr. Gopakumar added.
