When Chloe Massey left England to take up a job in China last September, she had no idea that she’d end up teaching her pupils via online from northern Southland. But last week she started her new job teaching English and physical education at RDFZ Dongba School in Beijing. Because New Zealand is four hours ahead, her teaching day starts at noon and stretches into the evening. Massey and Skevington got as far as Sydney before having their flights cancelled and had to return to New Zealand. I’m missing my family back in England terribly but I’m hoping to get back there in January during the Chinese New Year.’’
