JOHOR BARU: The Johor Health Department has rubbished a viral video circulating on social media claiming that the noval coronavirus had been detected in Desa Tebrau here. In a statement posted on its Facebook page on Tuesday (Feb 4), the department said the allegations was not true. "The state Health Department has lodged a police report against the viral statement. "The public should not spread the viral video, which is not verified, as it will caused panic among the community here," it said. The department reminded people that spreading fake news was an offence under Section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998.
