According to Worldometers, a total of 81,678 new coronavirus cases in the world have been recorded on Wednesday, taking the total number of Covid-19 cases to 3,218,184. A week ago, on April 22, the number of new cases worldwide was 80,719 and a week before that on April 15, it was 83,599. Till now, the number of active cases stands at 1,990,121. Of the active cases 1,930,972 (97%) were identified to be in mild condition while the rest 59,814 (3%) have been marked as serious or critical.
