That’s why today we are asking the Government to come forward with a clear and comprehensive plan for social care. They are looked after by unpaid family carers and care workers. Austerity cuts have taken £7 billion out of social care budgets since 2010. The same must happen in social care. Many care workers are part-time or on zero hours contracts.
