General News of Tuesday, 31 March 2020Source: GNACoronavirus: Teshie goes quiet as movement is restrictedFile photo - Empty streetsThe usual hustle and jostle at Teshie, a suburb of Accra in the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly was absent as movement is curtailed as part of measures to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. The Ghana News Agency monitoring team observed during a tour of Teshie Township that, most shops, food joints and lorry stations were not in operation, Mobile, a popular bus station in the municipality was utterly quiet. Madam Rita Mensah, a trader, said she was overwhelmed with the sales she made over the weekend prior to the lockdown. The GNA also observed that most residents were adhering to the directives of the President by being indoors as the usually busy township was quiet. The directive also affected areas such as Tema, Kumasi, Obuasi and some part of Awutu- Senya East Municipality (Kasoa).
