Mementos, on Devon St East in New Plymouth, specialises in New Zealand souvenirs but has been struggling ever since the country’s borders shut. “People have been very sympathetic that it’s come to this because we’ve been around for a long, long time – 28 years; a family-run business started by my mother. Exactly when they close will depend on how long it takes to sell all the stock, but Jameson is predicting they will be gone by Christmas.
