Coronavirus: Returning family has to restart quarantine after hotel bubble breach

The Jet Park Hotel near Auckland Airport is being used as a quarantine facility. A family returning from overseas who were split into three bubbles in a managed quarantine hotel have had their 14 days restarted after they mixed together. Stuff understands children at Jet Park Hotel in Auckland were playing together, which then popped the bubbles. “With the breach all the bubbles of the family needed to be reset to day zero to ensure that proper isolation and quarantine measures were followed,” a Managed Isolation and Quarantine (MIQ) spokeswoman said. The Government announced on Wednesday it would deploy 500 more Defence Force staff to managed isolation facilities and the border.
