Coronavirus: Portakabin morgues being built to deal with spike in Covid-19 deaths


The Cabinet Office is putting contingency plans in place to deal with “the reasonable worst-case scenario” if existing morgues are overwhelmed. The Guardian reported that many were being supplied by Portakabin and could be built on council of Ministry of Defence land. Yesterday it was revealed that Westminster Mortuary was to expand its capacity to deal with expected rise in mortalities.
