Guests at an isolation facility in Auckland met with outsiders while flouting social distancing requirements, a man staying there says. He said the illicit meetings took place in the days before the revelation two women who stayed at the Ellerslie Novotel were carrying coronavirus. Two Kiwi women who became the latest coronavirus cases in New Zealand arrived from the UK on June 7 before staying at the same Novotel. They were not tested before leaving the facility and met with a friend who lent them a car on their way out of Auckland. Guests and visitors were able to get close to each other and were separated only by the railing, the man said.
