The sample of the newborn tested at the laboratory of Chittagong Medical College came back positive on Thursday. Previously on May 24, a 32-year old woman was admitted to Chittagong General Hospital where she gave birth to a baby boy by caesarean delivery (C-section). She was later shifted to Chittagong General Hospital after she was confirmed as a Covid-19 patient. Chittagong Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said that the mother and her baby are undergoing treatment at Chittagong General Hospital and their condition is stable.
