The Northern Executive has delayed the reopening of all pubs in Northern Ireland, which was due to happen on Monday, to September 1st, First Minister Arlene Foster announced on Thursday afternoon. “We have decided that it is prudent to pause the reopening of our public houses,” she said. At present pubs in Northern Ireland can open where they serve food. On Thursday afternoon the Department reported that there were 43 new cases of coronavirus bringing the total to 6,049. Figures calculated by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (Nisra) using information from death certificates, shows the total number of Covid-19-related deaths registered in the region to July 24th was 853.
