Zakir Hossain, president of Mimi Super Market chaired the meeting where representatives from 10 markets and shopping malls participated. Confirming the matter to the Dhaka Tribune, Zakir Hossain said that 10 shopping malls of the port city have consented to the decision of keeping the markets shut till May 31. Taking a cue from the meeting, other markets and shopping malls will follow suit, hoped Zakir. Meanwhile, the government on Tuesday allowed business owners to open shops and shopping malls for six hours from 10am to 4pm from Sunday, maintaining health guidelines.
