Coronavirus Ireland: Bank of Ireland urges older customers to stay away from branches

Photo: Brian Lawless/PA WireBank of Ireland says footfall in branches has halved since Friday’s tighter Government lock-down but many older customers are continuing to come in for routine banking unnecessarily. The bank said it has also launched a dedicated support service we have put in place for healthcare workers from today. Bank of Ireland is now dealing with around 1000 requests for payment breaks a day. The bank has redeployed staff from other areas and is developing an online process to deal with the huge surge in demand.
