The Department of Health has been notified of 240 additional confirmed Covid-19 cases in Ireland, and one further death. There are now 32,023 confirmed cases of Covid-19, and 1,789 deaths linked to the virus. The new cases are made up of 119 men and 120 are women, with 61pc under 45 years of age. Meanwhile, up to 2,100 schoolchildren and teachers have been tested for Covid-19 since classrooms opened and 35 have tested positive, the HSE confirmed today. The briefing was told that hospitals are seeing more patients coming for non Covid-19 care and Limerick hospital has been particularly challenged.
