Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Riva Ganguly Das, handed over the emergency medical supplies to the concerned authorities of the Bangladesh government on Sunday. The medical supplies include 1,000,000 Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) medicine tablets and 50,000 sterile surgical latex gloves, said the press release. The assistance, intended to support the efforts of the Bangladesh government in tackling the spread of coronavirus, comes from the Saarc Covid-19 Emergency Fund. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Saarc Covid-19 Emergency Fund with an initial contribution of $10 million from his country. As of Sunday, Bangladesh confirmed 5,416 coronavirus cases with the death toll rising to 145 after five new fatalities were reported.
