The deceased, Abhas Antobas, 5, died while undergoing treatment at the SSMCH after being transferred to the hospital from Chunarughat of Habiganj on Saturday evening around 8pm, confirmed Dr Mukhlesur Rahman Ujjal, assistant civil surgeon of Habiganj. He said: "We maintained proper protocols with the dead child and the burial procedures to prevent others from being infected. "This is the first death from the virus in Habiganj among 47 infected people," added the official.
