Unfortunately, the fear factor around the current and future global contagions is likely to grow exponentially and is likely to disproportionately affect the lives and wellbeing of older people. Unfortunately, rising numbers of deaths from contagions similar to Coronavirus may become a new part of the global landscape. The fastest growing cohort of the global population is older adults, especially the oldest old, 85 years old and older. Companies are even pausing to assess if the Coronavirus, and future health crises, are factors to consider in the placement and operation of future supply chains.
