Government’s advice is to wash your hands regularly with soap and hot water, but there has been a surge in hand sanitizer sales, with people using it as a back-up when they are on the move. Reported shortage of hand sanitizers and its skyrocketing prices have compelled some people to use undillited ‘akpeteshie’ while others use it in home-made hand sanitizer formulations. She told GhanaWeb that she has recorded a rise in sales as people tend to use alcohol as a sanitizer. It appears that though the coronavirus is on the spread, it is also an amazing period for alcohol sellers to make good sales as people tend to use alcohol as a disinfectant.
