US President Donald Trump has declared a national emergency to fight a coronavirus pandemic that has killed 41 people in the United States. Speaking from the White House Rose Garden, Trump said, "I am officially declaring a national emergency." A national emergency allows the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to redistribute funds and assist US states and local governments in response to the crisis.
