Coronavirus: DHBs slammed for charging health workers for parking

Hospital workers at some district health boards have to start paying for parking again in level three (file photo). Three district health boards have started charging frontline heath workers for parking again after the country moved into alert level three. NZNO kaiwhakahaere (administrator or manager) Kerri Nuku said the three DHBs started charging health workers again for parking after the country moved down alert levels, whereas other DHBs have held back on re-introducing the charges. Free parking would reduce staff stress and in a way, show the workers' efforts are being appreciated, she said. Northland DHB defended the re-instating of parking charges to health staff, saying the costs were low.
