The commission took the decision in an emergency meeting in Dhaka on Saturday. The city corporation and the by-polls of the constituencies were scheduled for March 29. Sources at the Election Commission said the commission came up with the move considering the coronavirus, or Covid-19, pandemic. In the meantime, the voting in the by-polls to three constituencies -- Dhaka 10, Gaibandha 3, and Bagerhat 4 -- was held on Saturday amid the fear of coronavirus outbreak.
