The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases topped 12 million world-wide, with about a quarter of those in the U.S., as reopenings remained on track in some states, including in a number of the worst-hit areas. The U.S. reported more than 58,000 new cases on Wednesday, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, down slightly from the previous day. The country’s death toll stands at more than 132,000, according to Johns Hopkins.
