Auckland Transport has reintroduced special cleaning measures for buses, trains and ferries as Auckland moves to alert level 3. Bus drivers and transport staff will not be expected to enforce rules for passengers on public transport to wear masks or face coverings. Auckland Transport, which manages a network of 1300 buses, said operators would not be expected to assume the role of enforcing mask wearing. The union had suggested Auckland Transport should put on extra staff to travel on buses to help with mask compliance. ALDEN WILLIAMS/Stuff Many bus drivers already wear face masks, but all passengers must wear them from Monday.
