[Jonah Onyango, Standard]Leading gaming firm Betika yesterday presented a cheque worth Sh15 million to the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage to help cushion athletes from the ravages of coronavirus pandemic. Both leagues were suspended in March with ten round of matches remaining, leaving most of the players and their families in a desperate situation. Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony, Betika’s Business Head John Mbatia reassured his company’s commitment to supporting Kenyan sportsmen and women during these difficult times. “As a Kenyan homegrown sports betting company, we are fully committed to supporting the Sports Industry,” said Mbatia.
