Coromandel slip cleared as holiday traffic takes to roadsSUPPLIED Contractors work to fix the slip between Tapu and Waiomu. A large slip caused by rain brought by Cyclone Cook on State Highway 25 on the Thames Coast has been cleared. Another big slip has also reduced State Highway 30 to one lane at Ruato Bay, on the shores of Lake Rotoiti. The Karangahake Gorge between Paeroa and Waihi is open to traffic, albeit with a 30kmh speed restriction. Meanwhile, work will start on Wednesday to repair an underslip on State Highway 29A between Poike Road and the Welcome Bay Road roundabouts.
