Economic growth prospects remain clouded by substantial Covid uncertainties. Will new variants be more or less dangerous and more or less transmissible? And will the global economy be afflicted by burgeoning economic nationalism? Ireland, its colours pinned firmly to the EU mast, risks a slower recovery as a result. The economic rebound here is being further slowed down by our own institutional lethargy.
